Muay Thai Phuket is a camp island with a spectator strip in Patong. The large rooms are in Chalong and Rawai, and at Cherng Talay near Bang Tao.

Tiger Muay Thai and MMA, on Soi Ta-iad in Chalong, trains Muay Thai, MMA and fitness. Its FAQ lists a drop-in at 500 baht and a standard private at 700 baht an hour. The price list, excluding 7% VAT, has shown a month of all-class training at 14,700 baht, and a news post put training plus a standard room at 32,800 a month.

Sinbi Muay Thai, Saiyuan Road, Rawai, trains Monday to Saturday, 07:30–09:30 and 16:00–18:00, and is closed Sunday. Beginners can walk in. Each student gets five three-round pad blocks. Sparring and clinch are more often in the afternoon, and Saturday morning includes the wai khru. It is a large open-air room a short drive from Nai Harn, with a stadium on site.

Bangtao Muay Thai and MMA, at 72/46 Moo 3, Cherngtalay, is about a five-minute walk from Bang Tao beach, with Muay Thai plus MMA, Brazilian jiu-jitsu, boxing, wrestling and fitness.

When to go

The 1991–2020 record is hot all year: average highs never fall below 31°C. The southwest monsoon is May to October; December to March is drier. April’s average high is 34°C; December’s is 31.9°C, the least warm month. Warmest days are typically about 36.5°C.

Rain averages about 2,210 mm a year, peaking in May (about 295 mm), September (about 325 mm) and October (about 315 mm). January is about 35 mm. The sea stays near 28.5–30°C, but the west coast is rough in the monsoon. Best beach weather is late December to March. Camps stay open; use Sinbi’s 07:30 class in the March–April heat. Shows start at 21:00: Patong Monday to Saturday, Bangla nightly, Sinbi on Saturday.

What it costs

At Sinbi, one class is 600 baht and two the same day are 900. A month is 8,000 baht for one class a day or 12,000 for two. A private is 1,000 baht an hour, or 1,500 with Kru Saeng. Glove hire is 50 baht and shin guards 100, cash only.

Bangtao lists all-access months at 15,000–16,500 baht and a martial-arts month at 13,000. A day pass is 900 baht and a private is 900 baht, with VAT added at checkout.

Tiger’s list excludes 7% VAT, and the camp says rates can change. Through 30 September 2026 it advertised 20% off training plus a standard room, at 26,240 baht instead of 32,800, if you train by 31 December 2026.

A 2026 condo guide puts Chalong one-bedrooms at about 7,000–18,000 baht a month, Rawai and Nai Harn at 8,000–22,000, Bang Tao or Kamala mid-range at 15,000–30,000, and premium beach or Laguna stock at 30,000–60,000 and up. Chalong ads that August and September included one-bedrooms at 13,000–20,000. Tiger’s 32,800 baht figure is training plus a standard room, before VAT.

Where fighters stay

Soi Ta-iad, Chalong, is the base for Tiger; the FAQ says resorts on that street cover a basic room. Rawai suits Sinbi, with the Saturday stadium on site and lower rents in the 2026 guide. Cherng Talay and Bang Tao suit Bangtao if you will pay more for the beach. Patong is for stadium nights: Patong Boxing Stadium is on Sai Nam Yen Road, and Bangla is behind Jungceylon.

How to choose a gym

• Price one class a day and two a day separately. At Sinbi that is 8,000 versus 12,000 baht a month.
• Ask whether 7% VAT is extra. Tiger’s list and Bangtao’s checkout both add it.
• Sinbi is shut on Sunday, including privates. Patong stadium is dark that night; Bangla is not.
• Count trainers on the pads before paying monthly. All-gym passes cost more than Muay Thai alone.
• If you might fight, ask which show. Sinbi runs its own Saturday night, so stay near the gym.

FAQ

How much is a month of training?

Sinbi is 8,000 baht for one group class a day and 12,000 for two. Bangtao’s martial-arts month is about 13,000, and wider all-access months about 14,700–16,500 before VAT. Privates are about 700–1,500 baht an hour.

Where should I stay?

Chalong for Tiger, Rawai for Sinbi, Cherng Talay or Bang Tao for Bangtao, and Patong when the stadiums are the point.

Can I train in the rainy season?

Yes. May to October is the monsoon, wettest in September and October, and the gyms stay open. March and April are the hottest months.

What do fight tickets cost?

Patong, Monday to Saturday from 21:00: 1,500 baht stadium and 1,800 ringside in a 2026 guide, transfer included in Patong, Karon or Kata. Bangla, every night: 1,600 and 2,000, no transfer. Sinbi, Saturday: bleachers 1,500, ringside 1,800, VIP 2,500. Rawai is also listed Tuesday and Friday; check the week.

Is Sunday a day off?

Sinbi and Patong stadium are closed. Bangla still starts at 21:00.

Does the price include a room?

Sinbi’s board is training only. Tiger has advertised training plus a standard room at 32,800 baht a month. A southern one-bedroom is often 7,000–22,000 before the gym.
