Published state, checked 20 Oct 2026: 67 camp profiles are published (63 Thailand, 4 Indonesia) out of 98 camps in the 28 Sep 2026 research dataset. The gym directory lists 5,146 gyms in the same dataset.

What else was filled in

Of the 1,116 sample rows, 542 had a rating present, 348 had Instagram present, and 886 had a website present. Those are completeness counts, not quality scores. We do not turn a star rating into a ranking on this page.

Methodology

Two methods sit on this page, and they answer different questions.

The directory is a list of gyms. Counts here were checked on the United Kingdom page on 23 Oct 2026. A city total is how many listings that city page holds. Newcastle's two location pages are now one, Newcastle upon Tyne, with 10 listings. The sample's London count (103) and the directory's (130) cannot be combined or subtracted. The sample is not a subset of the directory. Manchester is 26 in the directory and 33 in the sample. Birmingham is 18 and 21. Both pairs can be true.

The price sample is 1,116 listings. Price fields were last verified on 28 Sep 2026. A median is the middle of the fees that were published, for one unit (drop-in, week, or month). The n is how many fees went into that middle. No median is printed on Atlas while the method is checked by hand; when the method page is approved, it will state the coverage bar a figure must clear. A blank price is a missing cell. UK coverage is 32 of 224 sample rows. Thailand coverage is 172 of 266. United States coverage is 43 of 316. Coverage is not a typical fee. We do not convert baht to pounds. We do not divide a median by the directory count.

The facts score is a third method, used on rankings pages, and it is not a price. From the methodology page read on 10 Oct 2026: dedicated Muay Thai 25, a stated fight team 15, a public timetable 10, beginner classes 10, kids' classes 10, a stated affiliation 10, women-only classes 5, a free or trial class 5, and years operating at 1 point per 2 years up to 10. A gym needs five of those facts. Missing data scores zero. Ties break alphabetically. Three qualifying gyms are required before a city ranking is published. Google ratings do not enter the score.
