How we rank gyms
Our rankings are editorial. We don't score coaching quality, atmosphere or fight results, because we can't verify those fairly for every gym. We score only what a gym states publicly about itself, and we link the page where we found each fact.
Criteria and weights
| Criterion | Points | Weight |
|---|---|---|
| Muay Thai is the gym's primary discipline | 25 | |

| Offers kids or junior classes | 10 | |
| States an affiliation to a governing or sanctioning body | 10 | |
| Offers women-only classes | 5 | |
| Offers a free or trial class | 5 | |
| Years operating (1 point per 2 years, max 10) | 10 | |

Rules
- Five facts minimum. A gym is ranked only when at least 5 criteria can be verified from a public source. Unknown counts as zero, not as "no".
- Ties are broken alphabetically.
- Three gyms minimum. A city ranking is published once at least three gyms qualify.
- Featured never reorders. Sponsored or featured listings are labelled and never change the ranking order.
- Rechecked. Each gym page shows its last-checked date and when the next check is due (90 days later).
- Corrections are accepted with a link to the public page that supports them.
Where the data comes from
Gym locations come from OpenStreetMap (© OpenStreetMap contributors, ODbL), Overture Maps (© Overture Maps Foundation, CDLA-Permissive 2.0) and gyms' own websites. Ranking facts come from each gym's own website or, for founding dates, Companies House. Google ratings, where shown, are read from the public Google Maps listing and linked; they don't feed the score.
